| CONSTITUTION DAY Hello Gary and Susan! I start with the Norwegian flag to day. To day we celebrate our Constitution Day - 17. May. We celebrate this day every year and all over our country are celebrations today. The children go in processions with flags and bands playing music. There have been lots of speakers for the day. Televised programs were shown from these cities and villages: Oslo (Capitol), Bergen (number two city after Oslo), Lillesand (a little city on the southeast part of Norway and Karasjok in the northeastern part of Norway; this is the place where Norwegian Lapps live. Many people all over the country are wearing their National Costumes today. Every part of Norway has their special National Costume. In Oslo the Royal Family stands on the castle's balcony and beckons to all the children who are passing during the three hour review. Every children's school in Oslo passes by the castle this day. This year Oslo also celebrated its birthday - the city is 1000 years old. One school child from every municipality/township in our country was selected for this procession this year through an invitation by the city Oslo. You can imagine how proud these children felt as they were participating in this procession waving to the royal family.
